Located in Panglao Island, 1.2 miles from Alona Beach, Amphitrite Resort provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Staff was very kind and helpful. We saw them eating breakfast together in the kitchen of the dining area, and thought that they were well taken care of. The owner? let us use a cute float when we were using the pool with a child and made us really happy. The pool is very big, continuous and clean. One is 3 and 4 ft for kids and the other is 6 ft for adults, as if a therapeutic pool. Eating meals other than snacks is not allowed in the villa, showing their effort to keep it clean and bug free. Sitting area outside the villa entrance was relaxing especially at night when the pool was lit up. There’s a spa next door and it’s open until very late. Great restaurants like Giuseppe and Thai food, pasalubong store, and 7-11 are around the corner!

I simply love the people and the laid back lifestyle of Panglao, though the night life is so vibrant and alive. Plenty of nice restaurants to choose from. The beach front of Bohol Beach Club is jaw-dropping. The Nest (Sunset) Bar at North Zen is a must-go-to place to chill while appreciating a very captivating sunset. The 500-meter, no-nail bamboo path leasing to the Nest Bar is an attraction itself.
The food are too expensive and transportation (tuktuk) as well are very expensive. The road going to alona beach are rough road and no proper sidewalk. Better to travel overseas (asean) rather to stay in panglao. Bohol is overrated
The 2nd day is not fun at all. We waited for 45 minutes to served our breakfast when in fact they already been serving customers before us. Poor quality service. The housekeepers are so dishonest. I left my valuables when I checked out then after when I get back the housekeeper said she doesn't found anything in the room. I just thought they badly needed the money for them to be dishonest and take my valuables. NEVER TRUST the housekeepers or the staffs. The food is fine but the staffs CAN'T BE TRUSTED specially the housekeepers! It leaves a bad memory.
Best place for first-time Philippine scuba diving visitors. You have surprisingly good restaurants compare to other Philippine cities, safe, relatively more options for massage / walk-around. Stuff to do apart from scuba diving (you got nothing to do in many Philippine scuba diving areas) Couple excellent Korean restaurants. Island hopping is relatively disappointing.
Loboc River Cruise is the highlight as is the lookout over the Chocolate Hills (great place for photos). The Bohol Bee Farm & Hinagdanan Cave are must see places as is Bohollywood out in the countryside. The road was bumpy in parts of Tagbiliran but saw them laying down new tar. Visited in 2017 & can see the place is booming & only going to be more popular
It's less crowded place compared to other popular islands in the Philippines, that makes it more relaxing. Snorkling at napaling Reef was amazing. It's a must do. The mountainside tour is also recommended. ATV ride in the mud was the most enjoyable. We had a tour from panglao to oslob. It's almost 9 hours tour but mostly traveling. It's tiring and I would say it's not worth the 30mins swim with the whale shark. Panglao is very popular for diving. A lot of people come here to learn/ to do scuba dive. The reefs and the variety of sea life were amazing, we even saw sea turtles and sea snake. 😍
