Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10. It’s the complete opposite of the city though so it depends on what vibe you are looking for. I definitely would recommend staying at the Brown’s if you are spending a night or two in Guatape. Guatape is a great town full of vibrant history and friendly locals. I highly recommend the Free Walking Tour through Free Walking Tours Guatape. Astrid was our guide and she was excellent. We did the night tour with the same company. This is a great tour if you enjoy history. Beatrice was our guide and she is also excellent. The cabanas are private, have a beautiful view and are curated so well. You have everything you need for a luxurious, relaxing stay. We loved not ever needing to leave the cabana thanks to the extremely attentive staff and room service. A little tip if you’re arriving on the bus from Medellin - you can get off the bus in El Penol, which is much closer to the property than Guatape. Don’t bother reading any more reviews, just book it.
