Aalborg is interesting but not a must-see city that gives a perspective on North Jutland's geography. It has a student feel. Plan your visit for Tuesday-Saturday, as many museums are closed Sunday and Monday.Guest review byWendyUnited States - 8.0

It’s a small harbour town - not a place you would make a special effort to go to as a tourist, but it has a pleasant hotel with a nice terrace, a couple of decent restaurants and shops for essential groceries. If you are in Hirtshals for the ferry, you might like to stop by for a bite to eat or a drink on a terrace. The nearby beaches are beautiful and really worth a visit - especially if you have dogs!Guest review byMatthewNorway - 10.0

Museums and wonderful restaurants and a fantastic Skagen Bakery! We were going to stay one night and ended up staying three nights. Our trip to Grenen, where the Baltic Sea and the North Sea meet, was my favorite.Guest review byBettyUnited States - 4.0
It seemed like a ghost city with no people.
It seemed like a ghost city with no people. But Skagen was near it is beautiful. The restaurants and coffe shops open really late, can not drink a good coffe in the morning. And we did not find a good one. :-( The supermarkets are totally different like in other cities, the supply is really poor.Guest review byZsuzsannaHungary - 8.0
It is quite calm and natural.
It is quite calm and natural. Hjørring itself is a cute town with all the facilities you need. The place is great if you love being outdoors in nature. It's not so great if you want to do a lot of activities. It's quite rural. We'd recommend going to Eagle World. Great show. We'd recommend against going to the zoo in Aalborg. It's tiny and a lot of the animal exhibits are empty. No elephants or red panda's for example. Didn't see any of the big cats. The park is also NOT handicap friendly.Guest review byRoaldNetherlands - 10.0

Aalborg is clean and efficient and a nice place to visit if, like me, you have to go on a business visit. Good transport links to the airport (just 10 minutes by train) and seems easy to get around on foot. Food is fine and everyone seems to speak perfect English! Take a sweater or cardigan for the evenings!Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This place was perfect for an overnight stay from coming from the ferry and leaving the next day to travel onwards to our destination a 10 hour drive further to the south-west. We found it especially useful that the bedroom had a window that could open but it was on the side the wind came from so it blew into the room a lot. It would have been nice if the windows on the other side of the room had the possibility to open, too, so we could choose which ones to open, according to the wind direction. There was a lounge with TV and a big corner sofa and a kitchen with a dining table downstairs. There was also a cozy little entrance area with a round table to play games and a very comfy hanging chair I loved to sit in. The downstairs bathroom is spacious and clean. On top of the stairs is another toilet which makes it easier for toilet use in the night for the occupants of the upstairs bedrooms. There is also a bedroom on ground level, next to the lounge and kitchen. We had a meal on the ferry, so we did not need to go out for dinner in the evening but from other visits to Hirtshals I know there are eating places around. Just check for the season because they are not all open the whole year round, especially between Christmas and the New Year you might be stuck because most places are closed at 'romjul'.Guest review byClaudiaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Wonderful little village with beautiful sites to see. great walking street with many shops. the sandworm experience was once fun and then to have a lifetime experience to stand in the sand and let the water from two different oceans wash over your feet. Raberg Mile was amazing to see even if it was a in the middle of a huge rainfall. The Sand buried church was really cool to see and just a short 400km walk from the parking lot. This town is a must see if you're traveling in Denmark.Guest review byCollienneUnited States - 8.0

We passed by and stayed for one night, and it was quite enough. We also visited a local swimming pool and local fish restaurant, both were good. We did not visit any museums, perhaps another time. It is nice to stay in this city to rest and recharge to continue your trip. Except on Sunday, when nothing seems to be open, it is so strange, but do not come there on Sunday, it would be a huge disappoint.Guest review byValeriyaFinland
